Reporter Magazine

Working at the student run, Reporter Magazine, as a photo editor I work across departments to deliver images for print, social and web based platforms. I currently work alongside two photo editors and 12 photographers to deliver daily social media posts and bimonthly magazine issues.  Below are examples of print layouts and social media edits that I've recently worked on.

Print

For the spread above, I worked alongside a designer to produce a quick turnaround for print. Our photographer had turned the images around quickly, but the decision to run in print came later, causing the turnaround to happen within a few days. Below is an edit I was working off of to create the design, making sure the images worked alongside the text while also visually appealing.

Social Media

The following images are edits I've made for Reporter Magazine's Instagram. Most assingments are expected to be turned around within the day and sent to our social media manager to be posted.  All captions written by Amy Roberts.

Feeling the chill and the thrill at the Rochester Polar Plunge! People from all over joined together at Ontario Beach Park on February 4, 2024, to support @specialolympicsny . Together an incredible $300,000+ was raised for athletes.

Lunar New Year

Bringing the Lunar New Year spirit to campus! On February 9th, the College Activities Board collaborated with eight incredible campus organizations to host a festive celebration. From savory Asian cuisines to engaging crafts and games, students immersed themselves in the Lunar New Year vibes at the SAU. The night ended on a high note with performances by NOVA, Yishu Club, and Wadaiko in the Fireside Lounge. Cheers to cultural unity and unforgettable memories!

RIT Men's Hockey

What a weekend it was for ice hockey! Our women's team defeated the Union Garnet Charges 2-1 on Oct. 14, and the energy was off the charts! Emma Roland, Lindsay Maloney, Athena Vasdani and Jaidan Fahrny came up big during the team's first home sweep in ages!

That same night, the men's team valiantly shut out Notre Dame 3-0 in front of a sold-out crowd at Blue Cross Arena! Were you there, roaring in support of your fellow Tigers?
